Dr. Hannah Korrel Founder & Managing Practitioner

Dr Hannah Korrel is both a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Neuroscientist, and published author. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with First Class Honours, Masters of Clinical Neuropsychology and PhD in neuropsychology.

Prior to founding Sydney Neuropsychology, Dr Korrel ran the Neuropsychology service at the Northern Beaches Hospital.

She is an Adjunct Fellow at the Macquarie University and experienced lecturer with appointments at multiple Universities (including the University of Melbourne, Federation University & the University of Technology Sydney). Additionally, Dr Korrel is an AHPRA-registered Supervisor for Clinical Neuropsychologists.

Dr Korrel specialties lie in neuropsychological assessments. Part of her core work is assessments of intellectual disability, learning disorders, neurodiversity’s and neurological conditions such as Dementia and Brain injuries.

Dr Korrel has a special interest in Neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD and Autism. She has interest in neurodiverse conditions in women and works to bridge the gap in female care in respect to neurodiversity with her extensive experience. Importantly, she assists families with the management of challenging behaviours.

Autism assessments is one of Dr Korrel’s specialities. Dr Korrel is trained in the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) which is the gold-standard assessment tool to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder.

She is supervised by Professor Tony Attwood, an international leader in the field of Autism. Dr Korrel is also a specialist in diagnosing ADHD.

She is an internationally recognised researcher in ADHD. Dr Korrel’s research is cited in the latest Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR). The DSM is one of the international gold-standard diagnostic manuals of mental disorders, and its criteria used to diagnose ADHD around the world. Dr Korrel provides tailored recommendations to best support the individual and their family.

Emily Danson Registrar, Masters of Neuropsychology

Emily Danson is a registrar neuropsychologist and a core part of the Sydney Neuropsych Team . She is an expert in psychometric assessments, specialising in the use of cognitive tests to measure brain function.

She holds a Masters of Neuropsychology, and the highest level of qualification in psychometric testing within Psychology.

Emily has extensive specialised experience working with clients seeking evidence of cognitive disabilities for NDIS purposes, including cognitive and intellectual disabilities, neurodegenerative disorders, and acquired brain injury populations.

Additionally, Emily has expertise in working with neurodiverse populations, including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. Part of her work at The Sydney Neuropsych clinic focuses on women with neurodiverse conditions.

In 2023, Emily completed her Master’s thesis, which focused on cognitive fatigue and associated cognitive impairment. She was awarded the Academic Excellence Award and made the Dean’s List for her ground breaking work & achievements.

Emily is currently under the supervision of Dr Korrel and receives specialised professional development from the experienced team at Sydney Neuropsychology.

Sarah Gilmore Practice Secretary

As the Practice Secretary at Sydney Neuropsych, Sarah brings extensive experience and compassion to supporting both our clients and team. With a background in disability support across all ages and abilities, Sarah is deeply passionate about mental health and providing accessible, high-quality care to all those of need.

Currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology at Deakin University with aspirations to become a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Sarah combines strong administrative expertise with a warm, empathetic approach.
